FAMILY COUNSELLING PROGRAM
The Nonceba Family Counselling Programme in Khayelitsha is dedicated to strengthening families, empowering young people, and promoting positive social development within the community. Through a range of structured interventions, including the Creative Arts Programme, Boys to Men Programme, and Life Skills Programme, participants are provided with safe spaces to express themselves, build confidence, develop healthy relationships, and acquire essential life skills. The programme encourages creativity, critical thinking, emotional well-being, and responsible decision-making, helping children and youth become resilient, respectful, and productive members of society.
life skills
The Life Skills programme encourages students to develop confidence, resilience and positive values. Coordinators and facilitators provide guidance, build self-esteem and help students strengthen essential life skills. Through interactive lessons and activities, students learn to make responsible decisions, communicate effectively and navigate everyday challenges while developing valuable personal and social skills.
creative arts
The Creative Arts programme encourages students to express themselves through art, music, drama and creative activities. Coordinators and facilitators nurture creativity, build confidence and help students develop their artistic talents. Through engaging projects and workshops, students learn to communicate their ideas, work collaboratively and explore positive ways of expressing their emotions while developing valuable life and creative skills.
boys to men
The Boys to Men Programme empowers boys to develop respect for girls and women, challenge harmful gender stereotypes, and promote positive masculinity. Coordinators and facilitators encourage critical thinking, emotional expression, and healthy relationships. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants build confidence, strengthen values, and contribute to ending gender-based violence in their communities.
